Sheridan High School has a diverse history. The current Sheridan High School opened in 1972. We are presently under construction and will have a “new” Sheridan High School opening Fall 2008. Our strong academic tradition will continue with the new addition. We will add 10 new state-of-the-art classrooms including 4 new Science classrooms with laboratories. When students leave Sheridan High School after four years it is important to us that they are academically prepared to be productive world citizens and that they understand the importance of giving back to their community. The staff at Sheridan High School is committed to forming meaningful relationships with students, parents and our community at large. Our proud tradition is one of excellence in every facet of student life. The focus at Sheridan High School is academics and this is a place where doing well academically has great value!
Exceptional student achievement is developed through academic rigor and personalized programming through a comprehensive achievement plan. At Sheridan High School we maintain the highest level of behavior and achievement expectations. We are proud of our wide variety of extra-curricular activities, clubs, teams and sports that assist in connecting students and families to our educational goals. Sheridan High School is part of the Colorado High School Activities Association and competes in the 3A classification.
Sheridan High School is home to 450 Ram students! The average class size at Sheridan High School is 24 students per class. This means that we are able to provide individualized and direct instruction for our students. Our students have an opportunity to take challenging classes for career readiness, take Accelerated classes for college readiness and take college level classes for dual (high school and college) credit s. We have over 14 different electives courses to choose from including our ACTS program, CU Upward Bound, CU Succeed, Arapahoe Community College and TRIO Program.
